Heather grew up in Texas and graduated from TCU. Since then, she has made her home in Fort Worth with her husband, her seven-year-old son, one dog, two birds, two frogs and way too many fish. She’s a sucker for a critter and an underdog. Heather has been a teacher for more than 15 years and is currently teaching third grade. She prefers mornings spent watching the Today Show with a cup of coffee and evenings spent on the porch with a margarita. She loves a good, long book, Blue Bell Dutch chocolate ice cream, and relishing every single second of summer.

We are bursting with new development and family friendly neighborhoods. Anything you need, we probably have it. We have our choice of Targets (super or regular), our choice of Krogers (super or regular), and our choice of Starbucks (all super, of course). But, we also have amazing local spots. Here are a few of my family’s favorites.

The Baby Tooth Dilemma

1
Now, I’m stuck with all these teeth, and I don’t have any idea what to do with them. It wasn’t in the handbook. I know I need to throw them away. (I think I need to throw them away.) (Do I need to throw them away?) I’m having a little trouble throwing them away. In other circumstances, I’m actually very good at getting rid of things. I’m not super sentimental about “stuff.” Making a run to the Goodwill donation center seems to be perpetually on my husband’s “honey-do” list. Old clothes: out! Old toys: gone! If I don’t absolutely love it, I get rid of it. But, I absolutely love these teeth.

Why We Say Yes to Pets

More than a few of our friends think we’re nuts. We’re certainly outnumbered. But, in our family, the benefits of furry (and feathered) pet friends outweigh the poop that we are almost always scooping.
