Festive Cocktails and Mocktails for the Holidays
Whether you are dashing through the snow or dreaming of a white Christmas, a little holiday cocktail is sure to make your celebration just a little more merry (and bright). Here are three of my very favorite holiday cocktails and some kid-friendly options.
Curing the After-School Blues
The beginning of the school year brings with it a new season of moodiness, and grumpiness, and all around unpleasantness in our once joyful, exuberant kids. When Mom Goes Back to School
It's back to school shopping time! I picked up a new spiral and some highlighters, pens, and post-its, but these goodies weren’t for my son. Nope, this semester, Momma went back to school.
My Five Favorite Podcasts for Kids
Listening to a podcast offers many of the same benefits as listening to an audiobook. When I asked my seven year old what he loved about listening podcasts, he said that they are fun, that you learn stuff, and they are funny. What I love is that podcasts are engaging, hands free, and screen free. Listening keeps his curious little mind stimulated, and they buy me a little bit of a breather in the car for those moments when I just need five minutes without one more question. We listen in the car, during quiet play, before bed, and, occasionally, at bath time.

Talking Openly About Anxiety {Lessons Learned from Hiding in Bathroom Stalls}
My anxieties are not typically this debilitating. I think many, many people feel this way at least occasionally. And, even if you haven’t had the glory of hiding in a bathroom stall, you’ve probably had a moment of insecurity when you just didn’t know how to approach a situation. If not. You’re amazing, and I’ve never met you.
