I know that I’m a stronger adult and a better communicator because of experiences like these. I can politely interact with a variety of people, communicate my needs or wants, speak up if something is wrong, and ask the right questions to get information. There is NOTHING wrong with being naked. It allows a level of comfort with our own bodies and occasionally sparks interesting questions which I am more than happy to answer.
Growing up, my siblings and I lived for nights with a babysitter. It meant someone young and fun to play with, staying up slightly later than our bedtimes, and if we were really lucky, a Kid Cuisine for dinner.
While my boys do a great job of meeting their “must say Mommy a few thousand times a day,” quota, I am not actually as high in demand as Daddy. I am not their favorite parent.
Above all, know that that no one can make you happy but you. Some people have beautiful lives and don’t enjoy a second. Others find the light in a bleak world and are completely satisfied.
