New baby in the house or on the way? Does the question of breastfeeding have your head spinning? Tarrant County has a plethora of knowledge to help answer your questions and guide you to make the choices best for your family.
This resource is brought to you by Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Texas (MMBNT) It is an amazing non-profit that serves fragile infants whose own mothers’ milk is not available, a frequent problem for preterm babies whose mothers have trouble lactating and establishing their milk supply. Operating much like a blood bank, MMBNT collects breastmilk from healthy, nursing mothers who have a surplus. Every milk donor is screened, and her milk is tested and pasteurized. Donor human milk is dispensed to premature and fragile infants without access to their mother’s own milk.
