High School Zoo Camp – Veterinary and Mammals — 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. // High School Zoo Camp gives campers the chance to see and learn all about how the zoo staff looks after animals. Campers will participate in a variety of husbandry activities, enrichment projects, diet preparations, tour behind the scenes, as well as interact with staff including zookeepers, nutritionists, veterinarians, conservationists, and animal behaviorists. $125 per session, ages 14 to 18.

Beat Bugs: A Musical Adventure at Artisan Center Theater in Hurst — 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. showtimes // Based on the hit Netflix animated series and inspired by the music of The Beatles, this musical adaptation centers around five very tiny pals who explore the world and learn life lessons. Stockyards Pro Rodeo Summer Series — 8:00 p.m. // The Stockyards Pro Rodeo Summer Series at the Cowtown Colisuem includes a night of bull riding, bronc riding, barrel racing, and more! Tickets start at $15.

8th Annual Family Expo and Big Latch On — 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. // Tarrant County Breastfeeding Coalition celebrates, supports, and promotes breastfeeding with door prizes, vendors, and more. Free admission, but registration is required.
Night Hike Series: All About Bats at River Legacy Living Science Center – 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. // Meet some bats from Bat World Sanctuary and then go on a night hike using echolocation equipment to listen for and possibly spot bats in our park. Ages 12 and up. Free admission.
Deaf and Hearing Awareness Day at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Arlington — 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. // Hurricane Harbor Arlington is happy to host Deaf Awareness Day for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Tickets start at $28.99.

Mid-Week Movie Night at Fort Worth Museum of Science and History — 6:05 p.m. // Every Wednesday, the museum shows three movies, and offers snacks and refreshments for purchase. Tickets start at $5 for one feature film, $9 for a double feature, and $14 for all three movies.

Kimbell Kids Drop-In Studio at the Kimbell Art Museum at 1:00 p.m. // Every Saturday, this free program introduces children ages 12 and younger and their adult companions to fun and inspiring ways to enjoy art together. Each session features a brief gallery activity and a related studio-art project. Space is limited. Sign-up begins one hour prior to the program.
Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show at Cowtown Coliseum — Every Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. // Historical figures such as Pawnee Bill come to life and transport the spectator back in time. The shows are based on actual events and stunts that occurred in the original Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show that toured the country some 90 years ago. A family-friendly event full of animals, trick riding, trick roping, trick shooting, and an Indian ceremonial dace. Tickets start at $8.

Pictures and Pages at Kimbell Art Museum — 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. //Collaborate, play, and grow together in this free storytime program designed for children ages 4–6 and their adult partners. Space is limited. Sign-up begins one month prior to each session. Maximum two children per adult.

Goodnight Summer — 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. // The Little Art Bus teams up with Hulen Mall to host a pillowcase-decorating workshop aimed to get kids back-to-school ready. Tickets are $20.
Summer Reading Celebration – 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. // Mayor Betsy Price’s Summer Reading Challenge Celebration includes story time, face paintings, and more. Free admission, and the first 200 guests get to make candles.

Dr. Pepper Kidds Day at Arlington Backyard // Texas Live! is celebrating their first anniversary with bounce houses, superheroes and princesses, face painters, a petting zoo, the 7-Eleven Slurpee Truck, games, and giveaways. Ripley’s Believe it or Not will be on site with some oddities and giveaways. Free admission.

Summer Star Wars Series — 7:00 and 9:45 p.m. // Every Tuesday starting August 13, The Grand Berry Theatre will show the first six installments of Star Wars in the order of which they were told. Six-movie package is $85.

Breakfasts with the Beasts, at the Fort Worth Zoo — 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. // Kids can learn about furry, fuzzy, and scaly animals from the zoo’s animal outreach staff, during a continental breakfast. $30 per adult, $22 per child. Zoo members receive a 10 percent discount.

End of Summer Bowl-a-thon at Cityview Lanes, hosted by Junior Achievement of Chisholm — 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. // This non-profit event hosts teams of five in this Under-the-Sea-themed bowl-a-thon! Prizes will be awarded to best costume and best decorated lane.

Pickin’ for Preemies Benefit Concert — 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. // Pickin’ for Preemies is a Red Dirt Music concert at Billy Bob’s Texas benefiting Cook Children’s Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The 2019 lineup includes William Clark Green, Deryl Dodd, and Kylie Rae Harris. General admission tickets are $25.

Nature Walk at River Legacy Living Science Center – 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. // Explore the nature trails surrounding the Science Center on a family-friendly guided nature walk. Free admission. Space is limited. RSVP to 817-860-6752.

Model Train Show at Clark Gardens — Train clubs will have display their trains and have loads of track with different loops and auto switching displays, plus the Choo Choo Express will be back giving trackless train rides throughout the gardens.
