Shop Local, Shop Online: Staying on Trend and in Budget this Fall

0

Is there anything better than the first crisp morning of fall? When you pull on your ankle boots, layer on that utility jacket, and grab a scarf with your coffee as you head out the door?

It’s safe to say I love fall clothes. I could blame it on my mother, who taught me early on to splurge on great jackets and shoes. Or I could blame the fact we live in Texas and our fall clothing season lasts for about three weeks. But either way, I think outerwear is my love language.

So today I’m sharing with you a few incredible, locally-owned boutiques that make it so easy to stay in style and on a budget this fall. Whether you’re looking for animal print or camo, embroidered dresses or chunky sweaters and tunics (to go with all those leggings, of course!), these boutiques have got you covered. And the best part of all: They are all online! So you don’t even have to leave your home to explore what is in stock. Happy shopping!

Tarrant County Boutiques

Fetching Fort Worth (fetchingforworth.com) – Fort Worth, Texas

The concept of this small shop is so special and unique, you are going to want to check it out for yourself! Former museum curator Christina Hardman serves as your own personal shopper. You can book a private one-hour appointment in her gorgeous show room (located inside the same building as Craftwork Coffee) where you have all the space you need to try on new trends in person. Bring a friend or two along for some extra advice.

This boutique is mom-friendly. Christina says all of the inventory is chosen with busy moms in mind, and she prides herself on keeping every item in her shop under the $65 price point. Right now, she’s even featuring one-of-a-kind jewelry made by local artist and mom Kristin McCoy of Tin Box Designs. If you can’t make it to the store, you can also book a popup shop for your office or home. (Find her shop at 2700 Weisenberger Street, Fort Worth, Texas.)

The Paisley Heart (thepaisleyheart.com)  Fort Worth, Texas

When I polled my friends on Facebook for their favorite local online shopping boutiques, this one was recommended more than any other! One friend even called this shop “dangerous” because it is so easy to fall in love with everything and blow your budget.

The key to the best shopping experience with TPH is to join the “The Paisley Heart {SELECT}” Facebook group, where local mom Brooke — who left corporate America to start TPH five years ago — tries on all the inventory and shoots a video to describe in detail how each garment fits and how to style it. You can also comment and ask questions about the fit or fabric anytime. If Facebook shopping isn’t your thing, you can easily shop on their website too!

The Side Door Boutique (facebook.com/thesidedoorboutique) – Arlington, Texas

Two fashion-loving mamas, Carrie and Andrea, own this shop in downtown Arlington. But if you can’t make it there in person, you can also find them on Facebook in an exclusive closed group, “The Side Door Boutique.” I love that they stock both regular and plus sizes to accommodate women of all sizes. (Find their shop at 806 W. Abram Street, Arlington, Texas.)

With Joy Boutique (withjoyboutique.com) – Mansfield, Texas

I love that this boutique offers local pickup if you’d prefer not to pay shipping! With Joy also hosts a “With Joy Boutique Insiders” Facebook page where shoppers get first dibs on new styles and sizes.

The Front Porch Boutique (shopthefrontporch.com) – Arlington, Texas

Pre-sales only: These clothes are ordered in packs (two per size), so you pre-authorize online, and if the pack is full, the boutique will order it. No returns or exchanges. There is a resale page on Facebook for anyone who wants to sell a product that doesn’t work.

MeccaFox (meccafox.com) – Burleson, Texas

This darling shop has some of the cutest graphic tees and animal print, and they just opened up a storefront in Burleson’s Old Town. Come do a little shopping, and grab coffee at nearby Dwell Coffee and Biscuits (or dinner at Babe’s or Fresco’s).

Other Online Boutiques in Texas

Shop Ruthie Grace (shopruthiegrace.com) – Montgomery, Texas

She may be a little outside north Texas, but I love her obsession with embroidery and the fact she always addresses whether a certain dress, jumpsuit, or top is “nursing-friendly!” Try-ons are included on her Instagram page too to help with deciding style and fit.

Flaunt Boutique (shopflauntboutique.com) – Marble Falls, Texas

This one makes it easy to stay on top of the latest boutique trends with easy claim shopping on Facebook (Flaunt Last Call) and Instagram! One of my favorite promotions is the seasonal grab bag — you pick the size, they fill your bag!

Ella + Scott (shopellascott.com) – Beaumont, Texas

If you love yourself some athleisure, this shop is stocking some adorable hoodies and pullovers you will want to check out stat! You can also earn rewards when you sign up for its loyalty program.

I had so much fun researching and sharing some of these adorable shops with you! Do you have a favorite place to shop online? Feel free to share and post a link in the comments below!
