The 10th annual North Texas Giving Day has arrived, and we at Fort Worth Moms Blog (FWMB) could not be more thrilled! This year, we partnered with many local non-profit organizations. These groups are the hands and feet of change in our city. North Texas Giving Day (September 20, 2018) gives you and your family the opportunity to be philanthropists and come alongside one or more of these groups to further their work!
This annual event not only unites our community in the common good of giving, but also invites you as moms to teach your kids the gift of generosity! There are many ways you (and your kids) can get involved!
- Do a fundraiser; lemonade stands, craft sales, and even household chores are great ways to involve your child in raising funds and supporting our community.
- Volunteer at a local non-profit.
- Register for one of the many North Texas Giving Day Events.

Mayfest
Mayfest is so much more than a fun, family event! Did you know that Mayfest raises and contribute funds for the Trinity River, surrounding parks, and community programs. Over the past 46 years, it has poured $7.5 million back into the Fort Worth community. Donate here.
My Health My Resources (MHMR)
My Health My Resources (MHMR) provides services for children with developmental delays and intellectual and developmental disabilities, youth and adults with behavioral health and substance use disorders, and veterans. MHMR provides early screening resources for parents as well as help for families through Early Childhood Services. Donate here.
Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT)
Focused on conservation and education, BRIT provides education on agriculture and the outdoors to adults and children. FWMB celebrated our 5th birthday in its beautiful facility and had the opportunity to experience some of their programs for families (so fun)! Donate here.
YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth
The YMCA staff works hard to better our community through programs that promote health. They make sure everyone — regardless of age, income, or background — has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Donate here.
The Together Project :: Because Your Family Is My Family
This year, FWMB launched the Together Project to further our mission of providing resources, encouragement, and community to parents in the Tarrant County area. Through this initiative, we have teamed up with two local organizations helping local youth in need.
- Alliance for Children. The only children’s advocacy center in Tarrant County, Alliance for Children has helped 50,000 children begin the process of healing from abuse. Alliance for Children personnel work hand in hand with local law enforcement, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Cook Children’s Medical Center, and the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office to accomplish their mission. - Care Closet at Arlington Heights High School. The Care Closet is run by teachers and staff at Arlington Heights. Students in need can receive clothing, food items, toiletries, and other essentials.
