Want to Get a Drink? Meet for Coffee?

We’ve found the perfect place to grab a glass of wine with your gal pals or your main squeeze . . . and the spot to sip on the holy java while you discuss the joys and challenges of motherhood with your tribe. Oh, and a fun venue for that bridal or baby shower . . . AND birthday celebration for your besties. Guess what? It’s the SAME PLACE.

Cue “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Urban Alchemy coffee and wine barIn July, the Fort Worth Moms Blog (FWMB) team gathered at Urban Alchemy Coffee + Wine Bar for our quarterly staff meeting. It took 2.3 seconds for us to fall in love with this place. First, it won us over with the charm of the building. Second, the top-notch customer service became apparent immediately. (We may or may have started humming “where everybody knows your name . . . .”) Third, the beverages were yum, and the food was tasty.

Honestly, its website description explains it best: “Welcome to your new living room. Urban Alchemy is your cozy chair, your favorite meeting space, and go-to place to celebrate. Arlington’s very first locally-owned coffee and wine bar in the heart of downtown.” It’s like a mix of Cheers and Friends right here in north Texas. Sold. Done. Hooked. Yes.

Urban Alchemy is the perfect addition to the growing downtown area in Arlington. Make a night of it by hitting up Urban Alchemy for wine and appetizers or make it your last stop of the evening for dessert and coffee.

The FWMB utilized Urban Alchemy’s private room for our meeting. It’s super cute and comes with large tables for working meetings. Yet, it could also be a darling venue for showers and celebrations.

food meat and cheeseDid I mention they have outdoor seating too — and are also kid-friendly? Because the menu is not your typical “bar food,” in taste or options, it’s also a great place to stop by for an easy weeknight dinner or a Saturday morning breakfast (appetizers, salads, sandwiches, breakfast items, and DESSERT). But save the charcuterie board for girls’ night. Thank us later.

The drink options include a lengthy wine list as well as a selection of locally-brewed craft beers that vary by season. Urban Alchemy also offers its own line of coffee blends in all your favorite options: latte, espresso, French press, iced, cappuccino, etc. For those not interested in alcohol or coffee — or too young to drink it — the drink menu also includes teas, almond milk, soy milk, kombucha, and (long live) Topo Chico.

wine at Urban AlchemyPerhaps one of the things we love most about Urban Alchemy is its commitment to the community, to local. From local craft beers to providing wall space for local artists. Check out Urban Alchemy’s “Events” tab too, as it shows the schedule for interesting and locally-focused events at the bar, like the “Mixed Tap” music nights, wine tastings (for only $15!), and glass-painting parties.

Take our advice: Put it on your calendar to visit Urban Alchemy (because we all know spontaneous date nights no longer happen during this stage of life). Be sure to tell them your friends at FWMB sent you. Heck, we might just see you there. ๐Ÿ˜‰
