Christmas is just around the corner, which means the kids’ holiday break is only a few days away! Keeping them busy every day while they’re out of school can be a challenge, but celebrating with fun family traditions is a great way to spend time together during the holiday season.

From hanging stockings and decorating the tree, to volunteering as a family for an important cause, holiday traditions are what make this time of year so special. One enjoyable way to add a new tradition to your holiday is to decorate the trees in your yard with not only lights, but also festive bird seed ornaments.

Bird seed ornaments are both pretty and practical: They add visual interest to your garden and feed birds in the cold winter weather. The gardening experts at Calloway’s Nursery just launched their new, expanded line of specialty bird seed, which includes five different varieties: Wild Bird Blend, Patio Blend, Songbird Mix, Thistle Seed, and Hot & Spicy Mix. Using only the finest quality of seeds and fruit bits, Calloway’s ensures its bird seed mixes are safe for birds to attract the sounds of nature to your garden!

Calloway’s is sharing its easy DIY instructions so you can make your own festive outdoor bird seed ornaments at home! The process is almost like a no bake cookie recipe with many materials and ingredients you probably already have on hand.
