It’s that time of year again! The time to save 50-90% on children’s toys, clothing and everything a baby may need! It’s consignment sale time and my all time favorite sale is Just Between Friends Fort Worth! Just Between Friends Fort Worth (JBF for short), is the largest children’s consignment sale in Texas, and in my mom opinion – the best! With over 75,000 sq. feet of children and maternity items, there is a deal to be found for everyone!
The Spring 2014 sale is February 26 – March 9th, with the first public shopping day being March 1st. JBF Fort Worth takes place at the Fort Worth’s Will Rogers Memorial Center – Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall.
Want to shop before the sale is open to the public? There are a few ways you can do this:
- BE A CONSIGNOR: It’s easier than you think. You sign up, you prepare your items, and then you drop them off at the sale! Do all this, you make money (that I turn around and spend at JBF) and shop early!
- BE A VOLUNTEER: This sale couldn’t happen without all the volunteers. Whether you are consigning items or not, being a volunteer is a ton of fun! I truly enjoy volunteering each sale. The more you volunteer, the earlier you shop!
- BE A FIRST TIME PARENT: I first found this sale when I was pregnant with my daughter (who is now almost 4!) You can check to see if you qualify and sign up online until February 27th to attend the First Time Parent sale on March 1st.
Once you enter the sale, you won’t believe your eyes. There are SO many great items – it’s almost overwhelming – but mostly exciting (it’s one of my favorite days of the year!) So how do you find the best deals? Here are my top 5 tips for shopping Just Between Friends Fort Worth!
- SHOP EARLY: I already talked about this! Consign, Volunteer, Barter – or all of the above! The more you do, the earlier you shop!
- MAKE A GOOD LIST: Take inventory of what your kids have and what they need. Sometimes you go a little crazy once in the sale and end up forgetting the items you really needed vs. what you just fell in love with! Write everything down and include sizes!
- KNOW THE BRANDS & PRICES: Know the prices of clothing brands so you know if you are getting a good deal! A $3 outfit from Target is not as good of a deal as a $3 outfit from Baby Gap! If you have big-ticket items on your list, include retail prices so you know what type of deal you are getting!
- PLAN ENOUGH OF TIME: I personally enjoy shopping by myself without my daughter with me! I don’t want to feel rushed going through all the racks of clothing or tables of toys! I usually end up being there for about 4 hours!
- ATTEND THE ½ PRICE SALE: There are great deals to be found still at the end of the sale. Usually, the best deals are found in the clothing section but you never know what you are going to find! I have found special occasion dresses or school uniforms for $1-$3 each – you can’t beat that!
