1

Chef Lanny P. Lancarte II, a native Fort Worthian and owner/executive Chef of Lanny’s Alta Cocina Mexicana, offers every palate a dynamic dining experience by constantly pushing boundaries and forging the unexpected. At Lanny’s Alta Cocina Mexicana, we offer creative Mediterranean-style cuisine with authentic Mexican ingredients and an international accent — a unique combination that has pleased guests since 2005 and has drawn attention of food and travel writers from around Texas, the U.S., and the world.

Lanny’s heritage, his innate talent, his warm good nature, and his dedication to excellence and creativity in the kitchen continue to command rave reviews. The most desired distinction, however, is simply knowing he’s met or exceeded the expectations of the many happy guests who grace his dining rooms and patio every week.

One of the highlights at Lanny’s is our unique ‘tasting menu,’ a multiple course selection that presents some of the restaurant’s most expressive recipes. Wine pairings are available to complete the Lanny’s experience. For those moms seeking a quiet date night spot, Lanny’s is the place! The intimate seating in the dining room gives guests a chance to enjoy one-onone time with friends and loved ones alike.

Whether it is a birthday lunch on our patio or a private event in our private side room for a baby shower, there is nothing that cannot be done with the space provided at Lanny’s. We will customize your menu to meet the needs of your event. We will also work with you on creating specialty cocktails for your celebration. We strive to make each event at Lanny’s unique and unforgettable.

Lanny, designs natural, from-scratch menus that have something for every taste, new every single day. We think of food as a vibrant work of art, changing with the seasons. Lanny calls on his endless culinary curiosity to prepare inspired innovations for guests.

The vision began after Lanny completed his undergraduate studies at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He then attended and graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Lanny also took advantage of a number of culinary study tours to Mexico before joining the staff at Rick Bayless’s renowned Frontera Grill / Topolobampo restaurants in Chicago.

Eventually returning to his culinary beginnings with a multi-generational family in the restaurant business, Lanny opened his first dining room deep within the patio gardens at his great grandfather’s landmark Mexican restaurant, Joe T. Garcia’s on Fort Worth’s historic North Side. While at Joe T’s, Lanny was able to experiment, explore, and perfect what would become his signature tasting menu at his own restaurant.
