Krista
Krista grew up in Arlington, Texas. While she was in undergrad at Texas Tech she swore she would never return, but after falling in love with her brother’s high school friend, Micah, that plan quickly fell out the window. Two kids later, her family’s roots are deeply planted. Krista spent the first six years of her professional life as a behavioral specialist working with students who faced emotional and psychological challenges, but, after having children, she quickly realized she had a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Since leaving her career in the school district, she has owned three different businesses. She currently spends most of her kid-free time teaching families how to improve their health with natural approaches, as well as empowering mothers to tap into their inner, God-given awesomeness! Although she believes deeply in the importance of living a natural, holistic lifestyle, balance is her number one goal (because, margaritas!!!).

      • My District does not give teacher i.d. We have Union card only too. We don’t even have a teacher business card. Doesn’t hurt to try.

        • Wow, how can a school not have detailed ID on their personnel?? Since 9/11 ,Culombine, Sandy Hook, every school or child care facility should have ID on personnel.

          • When you teach at a school in a small town with 200 kids or less Kindergarten- 12 th and maybe 20 teachers they don’t have any IDs I have worked at a couple of schools like that.

          • Many of these businesses that allow for online sign-up only require a .edu email address So you are guaranteed those to work!

Another option is to join the Texas Classroom Teacher Association, which will help lock in some more discounts. I am pretty sure they issue a membership card to their association. https://tcta.org/member_benefits

  1. I am not sure about all of the items listed but I will say Barns & Noble will tell you it is only for k-12 not university. I would like to know which ones also apply for university faculty members.

  2. According to their website, the Dallas Arboretum offers free admission but you have to pay for parking unless you are a member.

    • Some businesses offer homeschool discounts. You will need to check with each to see if you qualify. Never hurts to try, though!

  3. Thank you for doing this for us! As we do spend so much of our own money for our classrooms. This helps so much!
