Most of these should work for any valid school ID (or .edu email address for online discounts)!!

May I use my teachers union card?

Not sure! Your best bet is your district issued ID.

      • Liz July 19, 2017 at 10:40 pm #

My District does not give teacher i.d. We have Union card only too. We don’t even have a teacher business card. Doesn’t hurt to try.

Wow, how can a school not have detailed ID on their personnel?? Since 9/11 ,Culombine, Sandy Hook, every school or child care facility should have ID on personnel.

When you teach at a school in a small town with 200 kids or less Kindergarten- 12 th and maybe 20 teachers they don’t have any IDs I have worked at a couple of schools like that.

Many of these businesses that allow for online sign-up only require a .edu email address So you are guaranteed those to work!

Another option is to join the Texas Classroom Teacher Association, which will help lock in some more discounts. I am pretty sure they issue a membership card to their association. https://tcta.org/member_benefits

    • Patricia Petrino July 27, 2017 at 2:21 am #

I have used my Union membership card as ID at Michael’s.

I am not sure about all of the items listed but I will say Barns & Noble will tell you it is only for k-12 not university. I would like to know which ones also apply for university faculty members.

Some businesses offer homeschool discounts. You will need to check with each to see if you qualify. Never hurts to try, though!

Thank you for doing this for us! As we do spend so much of our own money for our classrooms. This helps so much!
