April showers bring May flowers . . . or so they say. Whether or not we get much rain this April, there is always something to do around fabulous Fort Worth. We even have an entire guide dedicated to everything easter going on in Tarrant County! If we do get those April showers, there are storytimes and art activities. Our Mom & Me Discover Date is also this month! There is something for you and your kiddos to do no matter the weather.

April 2 – 30
Cowtown Coliseum’s – Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show!! — Every Sunday at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. // Round up your kids and enjoy a reenactment of the original Pawnee Bill’s Wild West show! Fun for the entire family featuring animals, spectacular performers with ropes, bullwhips, pistols, and even a singing cowboy.
April 20 – 23
MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival — Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. // Come down to Downtown Fort Worth to see art by hundreds of artists. There will also be tons of food options including turkey legs, crawfish, and gourmet hamburgers, and musical headliners will perform all weekend.
April 1
Zoo Run — 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. // Join the Fort Worth Zoo for the 20th Annual Zoo Run! Walk, jog, or run your way through the Fort Worth Zoo and surrounding neighborhoods in support conservation efforts both here and around the globe.
“Hold Me Tight” – Conversations for Connection — 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. // Based on the book Hold Me Tight, 7 Conversations for a Lifetime of Love by Sue Johnson, the workshop provides education about the science of love and attachment, how we sometimes become disconnected in our relationships, and how to improve emotional connection and intimacy.
Animal Exploration — 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. // Discover the habits and adaptations of a native animal during a live animal observation with a River Legacy naturalist.
April 5
Mom & Me Discover Date — 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. // Join us at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art for stories all about color. There will be storytimes, art activities, swag bags, giveaways, and even food trucks!
April 8
NorthPark Center Presents ArtROCKS! featuring Yayoi Kusama — 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. // Bring out your children’s artistic talents at ArtROCKS! inspired by the work of Yayoi Kusama, a female Japanese artist and writer, whose paintings often feature psychedelic colors, repetition, and polka dots. Kids can create their own art, decorate cookies, and dance to music by DJ Jose G.
Community Easter Egg Hunt — 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. // Gather at the pavilion at Hurst Central Park to hear the Easter story before the easter egg hunt. You can bring a blanket and enjoy an afternoon in the park where there will be food and drink for purchase.
April 11
Backyard Composting — 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. // As Earth Day is this month! Teach your young kids about the importance of keeping the Earth green through composting at the River Legacy Living Science Center.
Nature Walk — 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. // Explore the nature trails surrounding the River Legacy Living Science Center on a guided Nature Walk.
April 13
Eggstravaganza — 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. // Cowboys Stadium is opening its doors for games, prizes, tours, and other activities!
April 15
Saturday Story Time — 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. // Come down to the River Legacy Living Science Center to hear stories presented by a librarian from Arlington Public Libraries. Stay after for related craft or activity!
April 21
Disney’s The Little Mermaid — 7:00 p.m. // See your favorite underwater princess come to life on stage at Casa Manana. Join Sebastian, Scuttle, and Flounder as Ariel tries to get her voice back from the evil sea witch Ursula!
April 22
Cardboard Boat Regatta — 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. // Enter and build your own cardboard boat, or just come to cheer on the courageous crews as they battle the waves in their cardboard vessels. Soak up the fun event day activities that include unlimited rides on the Tornado, Tsunami Surge, and Typhoon Twister, Hook’s Lagoon, Mini-Boat Regatta, Build-on-Site Boats, and Whale Sail for a chance to win fabulous prizes, concessions, and much more!
April 30
Operation Kindness Hope Gala — 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. // Enjoy a four course dinner, live entertainment, an auction and a raffle, all in support of homeless animals at Operation Kindness.
