Are you on the hunt for Independence Day family activities? Check out some of these DFW area favorites for a Fourth you’ll never forget.

Light Up Arlington! Fireworks (Levitt Pavillion Arlington), Sunday, July 3, 2016 \ Vendors and activities at 6:00 p.m.: Listen to a variety of live music while waiting for fireworks at 9:45 p.m. This event is free.

Mansfield’s Rockin’ 4th of July (Mansfield), Sunday, July 3, 2016 \ 7:00 p.m.: Celebrate Independence Day on the 3rd at Big League Dreams Mansfield Sports Park with rock ‘n’ roll, food, family activities, and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. This event is free.

Red, White, & Rockin’ Kids Triathlon, Saturday, July 2, 2016 \ 7:30 a.m.: Kids ages six to 15 can get a good workout before all the July 4th feasting begins! Entry fees may vary.

July 4th Fest Presented by Coke (Six Flags in Arlington), Saturday, July 2 – Monday, July 4, 2016: Bring a can of Coke or season pass for early entry. Each night will feature a fireworks and laser show around 9:45 p.m. Admission costs vary.

Stars & Stripes (Southlake), Sunday, July 3, 2016 \ 6:00 – 11:00 p.m.: Kids will love the KidZone, the balloon artists, candy art making, strolling characters, craft station, and live entertainment. A 1943 Douglas A-26 Invader bomber plane will also be flying during the ceremony. This event is free.

Farmers Branch Independence Day Celebration 2016, Sunday, July 3, 2016 \ 6:30 p.m.: You will get your fill of dancing, festival food, and low-level fireworks at this Fourth of July celebration! This event is free.

Concerts in the Garden: Old-Fashioned Family Fireworks Picnic (Fort Worth Botanic Gardens), Saturday, July 2 – Monday, July 4, 2016 \ 8:15 p.m.: Pack up your baskets with all your favorite foods and spread out blankets under the stars to listen to some of the finest music by our own Fort Worth Symphony. The night will end with a spectacular fireworks show. Ticket prices vary.

Lone Stars and Stripes Celebration (Grand Prairie), Sunday, July 3, 2016 \ Family fun park is open from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m.: You will find a zip line, face painting, petting zoo, and live music. End the night with some fireworks. Ticket prices vary.

On the Fourth . . .

Arlington 4th of July Parade, Monday, July 4, 2016 \ 9:00 a.m.: Find a spot early and enjoy this two-hour patriotic parade that covers two miles through downtown Arlington and the College Park District. Each year, about 70,000 people come view this well-attended parade. This event is free.Sparkler

Texas Rangers Post-Game Fireworks Show (Rangers Ballpark), Monday, July 4, 2016 \ Game starts at 12:35 p.m.: Take the fam out to the ballgame to watch the Rangers play the Boston Red Sox. Ticket prices vary.

Fort Worth’s Fourth (Panther Island Pavilion), Monday, July 4, 2016 \ 2:00 – 10:00 p.m.: Kick back, relax, eat some good food, and enjoy celebratory music with the family as you wait for the phenomenal fireworks show! Admission is free, but parking prices vary.

Old Fashioned Fourth (Dallas Heritage Village), Monday, July 4, 2016 \ 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Step back in time with this one-of-a-kind celebration. There will be historic buildings on show, traditional entertainment of juggling and puppet shows, and chance for the kids to be part of a patriotic parade while sporting their own decorated red wagons. This event is free.

Irving Independence Day Celebration, Monday, July 4, 2016 \ 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.: Start the day off with a parade, head on over to a community reception, and head back at 6:00 p.m. for a fabulous festival followed by the beloved fireworks! This event is free.

July Fourth Fun in the Stockyards, Monday, July 4, 2016 \ 11:45 a.m.: Round up the family for a fun-filled Fourth in our favorite stockyards! Kids can have their faces painted, and there will be live music, gunfight shows, and cattle drives. This event is free.

red, white, & blueJuly 4th Fireworks Extravaganza (Lake Grapevine), Monday, July 4, 2016 \ Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.: This 45-minute fireworks show can be viewed from any lakeside location. Some parks along Lake Grapevine may charge a minimal admission fee.

Hurst Stars and Stripes 2016, Monday, July 4, 2016 \ Children’s area is open 5:00 – 8:30 p.m. Enjoy live music, followed by a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. at this 13th annual event. This event is free. (Tip from a FWMB contributor: if you sit near Pipeline Road & Precinct Line Road in Hurst, you can see three shows in one evening!)

4th Fest Independence Day Celebration (Bedford), Monday, July 4, 2016 \ food court opens at 4:00 p.m. with fireworks at 10:00 p.m.: Live music, a variety of family friendly activities, festival food, and a fireworks show round out this event. This event is free, but some activities, parking and shuttle, and Bedford Splash Water Park charge a fee.
