Summer Splash :: A Guide to DFW Water Parks and Pools

SUMMERCraving watery fun for the littles and the big kids and everyone in between? Splash on over to some of our local water parks and splash pads.

Bahama Beach Water Park (Dallas): Here, you will find a variety of slides, a lazy river, and an interactive rain forest. Cost: $11 to $15 or free for children ages two and under.

Bicentennial Park Splash Pad (Crowley): Let your kids jump for joy in the spray of this fun splash ground. Free.

Burger’s Lake (Fort Worth): This 30-acre park has a lovely swimming hole complete with diving boards and a slide, two beaches for sun-soaking purposes, and multitude of picnic tables and charcoal grills for a family meal. Cost: $5 to $15.

California Lane Park (Arlington): Splash around on the spray ground at this pleasant park. Free.

Children’s Adventure Garden (at the Dallas Arboretum): Although they are not water parks, these gardens include watery sections that sprinkle kids while they discover the beauties of nature. Cost: $10 to $15.

Cimarron Family Aquatics Center (Irving): Complete with slides, diving boards, and shallow pool area, this water park has something for all of the kids. Cost: $2 to $8 or free for children three and under.

Don Misenheimer Park (Arlington): In addition to the spray ground, there is a basketball court and playgrounds fit for children of different ages. Free.

Dove Park Spray Ground (Grapevine): Located next to a swimming pool, this splash pad has a giant bucket that periodically fills up with water and splashes the area throughout the day. There are shaded areas and benches to help mamas stay out of the sun too. Free.

Farmers Branch Aquatic Center (Farmers Branch): Swimmers at any level can hop on into the lap pools during open swim times at the Margaret Young Natatorium. For a more relaxed watery adventure, enjoy the brand new Frog Pond water park. As if those options weren’t great enough, the center hosts Toddler Mondays, a free, poolside reading event for kids ages two to seven. Cost: daily passes are $3 to $8 or free for children two and under.

Forest Park Pool (Fort Worth): Not only can your kids regularly swim to their hearts content at this pool, but they can also enjoy the Dive-In Movie event on July 30. Cost: $5 to $6.

Haltom City Spray Grounds: Be refreshed by not one but TWO awesome spray grounds in Haltom City! Free.

Howard Moore Play Pool (Arlington): Primarily for kids age 7 and younger, this shallow water interactive pool is an ideal place for a family water outing. Cost: $3 to $3.50 or free for children 12 months and under.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor (Arlington): Ride the water or sit in the shade at this Texas favorite! Cost: $29.99.

Irving Water Fun: Venture out to Lake Carolyn, and participate in a pleasant pedal boat ride on the water. Singles, doubles, or five-seaters can be rented. Cost: Starts at $25, and children under 5 are free. 

Klyde Warren Park (Dallas): Not only does this park have a caterpillar fountain that transforms into a butterfly as water shoots out of it, but it also has yummy dining options nearby, a dog park, and a reading room for those that need a respite from the heat! Free.

Legoland Pirate Beach (Grapevine): Who doesn’t love a Lego-themed, interactive water playground?! That’s what you’ll find at Pirate Beach, the newest attraction at Legoland’s Discovery Center. Kids can pretend they’re on the hunt for lost treasure as they dash around this shipwreck-inspired structure. Cost: $21 or free for children three and under.

Love Street Park (Weatherford): Home to a playground with three age-appropriate sections, the park also features one of the city’s two splash pads for kiddos to play on with joyful abandon. Free. 

Marine Park Aquatic Center (Fort Worth): This pool includes a playground and lap lanes, and it boasts a large slide. Cost: $5 to $6.

NRH2O (North Richland Hills): Slides and splash grounds and rivers and pools abound at this family water park. Cost: $20.99 to $26.99 or free for children two and under.

Parr Park Spray GroundSplash (Grapevine): Situated next to a playground, the littles can cool off after sliding and swinging by playing amongst the host of colorful poles that jet out water. Free.

Pleasant Glade Pool (Grapevine): Along with open swim, this pool offers swimming lessons in the morning and the evening as well as paddle board yoga sessions for mamas. Cost: $2 to $3 or free for children 12 months and under.

Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center (Arlington): With a unique layout and a variety of slides, this center has the makings for a fun family day. Cost: $6 to $6.50 or free for children 12 months and under.

Safari Splash (Fort Worth Zoo): After a delightful visit with the animals, let the kids cool off at this 14,000 square-foot splash pad. Cost: $5 with zoo admission or free for children two and under.

South Euless Park Splash Pad (Euless): Sit in the shade while you watch the littles dash around the fountains, geysers, and a misty arch. Free.

Splash Factory Outdoor Water Playground (Grand Prairie): Watch the kids squeal with glee as they enjoy this interactive splash ground. Cost: $2. 

Splash Kingdom (Hudson Oaks): Be washed by the waves in the wave pool or go down one of the exhilarating slides at this fun water park. Cost: $23.95.

Sycamore Spray Ground (Fort Worth): To round off our list, we have yet another excellent splash pad that will help the kiddos to get their water fix without the need of a pool. Free.
