Looking for some autumn excitement?

Lone Star Family Farm is chock-full of family fun. Here you’ll find a six-acre giant corn maze, mini corn maze, hayrides, farm animals, hay bale maze (perfect for little ones), hay bale pyramid for climbing, corn and sand pit, and more. You can even race your friends down the side-by-side slides at the top of the hay bale mountain.

There is fun for the whole family, and also an ideal attraction for school groups, church groups, or scouting groups. Located in Stephenville, the farm is the perfect destination from Fort Worth for a day trip.

Try your hand at being a ranch hand with roping dummies and stick horses; and meet the goats, calves, and horse, which all are friendly and fun to observe. And new for this year, come out and meet its newest addition to the farm – pigs!

Among all the fun, you’ll also find educational enrichment too. Visit the farming area to learn more about the cotton crop, allowing folks to touch soft, fluffy cotton.

This is no ordinary maze. It’s also an educational game and inside this six-acre Giant Maize Quest® Corn Maze you will find questions and answers that you can solve with your friends and family.

And not only is the giant corn maze a huge draw, but it also is an educational tool. Each year, its theme changes. For 2015, the theme of “Farmers Clothe Families,” can easily be seen from an aerial shot, and is a salute to our nation’s cotton farmers, cotton ginners, and cotton millers.

In addition to a wide array of pumpkins and gourds of various sizes and shapes, the farm offers fall decorations for sale as well, including hay bales, corn stalk bundles, Indian corn, and other fall and Halloween decorations that are sure to delight.

Gather your group and take advantage of the decorative, fall-themed backdrops for family and group photos.

You’re sure to work up a hunger between all the fun, so take a break in the picnic area and grab a snack and drink from the on-site concession stand.

The farm also offers Flashlight Nights and campfires for groups. Bring your flashlight and take a shot at navigating the giant corn maze once the sun goes down. After the maze, you can bring your group for a private campfire and s’mores.

TractorsFarmers Ashley and Josh Ritchey began growing and selling watermelons and cantaloupes to grocery stores in the Lubbock area in 2009, until various challenges had them searching for a new niche. Eventually they were lead to start the first you-pick pumpkin patch in the middle of Lubbock, and then later moved to Stephenville in 2013. The following October they opened Lone Star Family Farm.

The farm is located at 4199 Highway 67 in Stephenville, and is open September 19 – November 8., Friday: 1:30 – 10:30 p.m.; Saturday: 10:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.; Sundays: 1:30 – 7:30 p.m. (Groups by appointment Monday – Thursday.) General admission is $10 for adults and children 3 and older, which includes all attractions except pumpkins, decorations, and concessions. Buy tickets at the farm or in advance online here.
