I Am a Fort Worth Mama: Sam Stewart

FWMB sam picMeet Sam Stewart, a Fort Worth mama to a baby boy she sweetly calls her “Little One.” She’s a wife of 11 years, a pharmacist for 10 years, and a creative spirit who shares her love of beauty and adventure with the world. Sam describes herself as a “coffee addict, painter who doesn’t paint (haven’t had time in years), vintage lover, optimist, and fashion blogger.” And fashion blogger she is thanks to her wildly successful and wildly inspiring blog, Style of Sam. Because of her can-do spirit and caring heart, Fort Worth Moms Blog is thrilled to highlight Sam Stewart as our first “Fort Worth Mama.”

If we peeked in your purse right now, what would we find?
Haha, that’s a funny question. You’d find my wallet, makeup bag, sunglasses, cellphone, and keys. Also, there’d be baby wipes, diapers, a pair of baby socks, diaper cloth, and toys. I cannot exclude some random earrings (taken off after work to prevent my lobes from being pulled off), various store receipts, and some empty candy wrappers! Some good stuff and little bit of trash!

Why do you call Cowtown home?

We LOVE Fort Worth. It’s such a beautiful city and has everything a “big city” offers but with the personality of a small town. Everyone is genuinely nice and things move at a slower pace. We feel like it’s a great place to raise our son.

What’s been the greatest joy of motherhood?

I’m almost overwhelmed at this question. We waited so long for our little one (over seven years) that I have treasured every single moment. If I had to pick one thing, it would be to watch my little one laugh. It’s the best thing ever! I love his D-ring smile, double chin, and sparkling eyes. I want to freeze it in time because it makes my heart burst with joy. I know that sounds really cheesy, but it’s true.

What’s been the greatest challenge of motherhood?

Oh my gosh, time management for sure. I already had problems before the little one came, and it was magnified 10 times after! I’m just now getting the hang of things, i.e. getting out of the house with the baby on a regular basis and that’s several months later!

How do you hope your life influences and/or inspires other women?

The journey to motherhood and adoption have been a long process, but I’ve been blessed and helped by many during this time. I hope I can give back by being a positive role model, helping others who are going through the same thing, and hopefully let them see that there are happy endings! (That’s the optimist in me coming out!)
